The program in five minutes

Neo's proposal for the team: the plan, the bill and the choices still to make. Nothing is confirmed yet.

01

What this is

A 12-week course for beginners. Each student makes three games: two small games, then one final game. Todak Studios publishes them under its brand, with the student's name in the credits. Students keep authorship and can show the games in their portfolios.

AI helps them design and build. To pass, they must also explain their code and fix problems with AI switched off. Publishing approval alone does not mean a student passes. The lecturer signs off the assessment.

02

What a student sees

The Todak Workbench puts the lesson steps, the code and one box to type in together, with Godot showing the running game beside them. Behind the box, a router sends artwork requests to Astra and code requests to Claude Code, and tells the student which one it used and why. The raw AI panels and the terminal appear from week 4.

Day 1 starts with a supplied practice scene: play, change one setting, explain the difference. Astra stays closed until its introduction. The same Workbench and student accounts work in class and at home.

03

How a lesson runs

A lesson lasts three hours: a live demo, a design warm-up, a guided build, a break, an AI-off walkthrough, a showcase and a save. Students explain their work to a partner. From week 4, they also fix a fault without AI. The final save keeps decisions and the day's best prompt.

The proposal is three 3-hour sessions a week, plus home work. Lan sets the timetable. Before enrolment, staff must publish reference games through the kit, test prompt recording and observe four to six real beginners using it.

04

Who owns what

The base stays course.neotodak.com, as today (Neo's proposal, 20 Sep). Behind it, the code, the database and the build server sit on company accounts, and no student work runs on Neo's personal machines.

Code goes in the todak-academy GitHub organisation; hosting uses the Todak Cloudflare account; the database is a Supabase project in the Todak organisation. The Academy's Kay .213 server handles recording and publishing queues. Lan and Neo own the accounts; Kai administers them. Todak Studios keeps the store accounts and signing keys.

05

What we buy

One Mac mini, controlled by us. Students never log into it. It exists so that iPhone builds and TestFlight are possible at all; a Windows PC cannot make an iPhone build. M6, 32 GB, 1 TB; about RM6,000, price unconfirmed.

Claude Team and ChatGPT Business seats each cost about USD 20 a month billed yearly or USD 25 monthly. Both over 12 weeks: RM570–710 per student; RM8.6k–10.7k for 15, RM11.4k–14.3k for 20. These are seat costs, not the course fee.

Allow about RM50 per student for assets. Course database: RM0, then about RM120 a month. Rented GPU hours for bulk images, 3D and sound: about RM300–700 per cohort.

06

Where games are published

Web and itch.io first, for every game. Game 2 adds PC downloads and Android testing. The final game goes to Google Play and iPhone TestFlight; an App Store release is optional. Steam and Epic are for showcase picks.

Steam Direct costs USD 100 per game, recoupable. Epic also costs USD 100 per game, recoupable, with a 100/0 revenue split on the first USD 1M per game per year, then 88/12.

Roblox comes later as a separate lane using its own engine. Godot games cannot simply be uploaded there. Roblox cash-out starts at 30,000 Robux.

07

The Unity question in three sentences

The course stays on Godot, while the studio proposes a separate two-week Unity test because its own games are Unity games. A pass needs a playable game on Android and Windows within ten working days, at least 70% of code and scene work produced by agents, builds made by the build server, and a fun audit comparable to Godot's. Pass or fail decides whether Unity becomes a second kit option; it does not change cohort 1.
